Worship Ministry Opportunities…
There are many opportunities for those who are not ordained to assist in our worship, both as leaders during the service and behind the scenes before, during and after services.
These ministries are open to everyone who is willing to serve.
Acolytes
Our youth serve as acolytes during worship. Duties include lighting candles, carrying the cross, participating in the scripture readings, and assisting the priest with Holy Eucharist at the 10:30 AM service. Becoming an acolyte is a great way to get involved and learn more about Episcopal worship.
Altar Guild
Altar Guild members prepare the altar and worship space for Holy Eucharist and other special services. Teams serve for a week at a time.
Choir - Seasonal Choir
Our seasonal choir performs at the 10:30 AM service for special seasons (Easter, Christmas).
Eucharistic Ministers
Eucharistic ministers assist with giving communion on Sundays and at special services. They are trained by the Rector and are licensed for this ministry by our Bishop.
Greeters/Ushers
Ushers help to welcome and orient people to our worship services.
Healing Prayer Ministers
Healing prayer is offered during Communion. Members of this group pray with any who desire prayer for themselves or for others. Healing prayer ministers are trained by the Rector.
Lectors
Lectors read scripture during the service.
